Victor Model P

The Victor model P was unique in that it was not designed to be sold, but to be given away as a premium. Music stores might give away the "P" with a minimum number of records, as an example, although frequently the purchased items were entirely unrelated to music. The instrument itself was relatively large, with a 10" turntable, and a simple oak case. The single-spring motor was usually mounted to the baseboard, in which case a hinged lid provided access for inspecting and oiling the motor. A concert soundbox and 18-inch steel horn with a brass bell were standard.
